It smells sweet but is incredibly obvious and overwhelming.

I use Gardenia from sweetcakes.  No issues at all, they also have several gardenia blends - Aquaflore is my favorite.  My best selling men's fragrance HANDS DOWN is.....drumroll.....Irish Spring FO.  Can't keep in stock and a lot of women buy it too.

My favorite gardenia FO comes from Frontier.  It's pricey, discolors, accelerates trace like crazy, but the scent is to die for.  I went through a lot of gardenia FOs before I got to this one.  I used to grow gardenias, and I know what they smell like.  I don't make it for anybody but me.   Cheesy

Br Nicholas, where did you get your magnolia?  And is it real, southern magnolia, the magnolia grandiflora?  I've gotten some magnolias from assorted suppliers, and they don't smell like the southern magnolia.  I suspect they are probably the Saucer Magnolia.  Smells nice, but not what I'm looking for.

I was born and raised in Arkansas, and there was a huge magnolia grandiflora in my parents' front yard.  Intoxicating in bloom.

I made liquid soap at a soapmaking class.  I mixed gardenia and freesia . . . I really liked the way the soap smelled.
