I don't have the book.  What's so special about the 2004 Edition?

Thanks, I read somewhere that there was a reprint but it was not like the original edition, missing info, etc. I hope I can find it someday. I hope you get it soon from the library.

I can only confirm! I have this book in its original italian version, but it is seriously the best book ever. It is so good, I bought it although I do not speak italian, just french - it costs only 25 EURO here in Europe.
I scanned the whole book (around 250 pages) and used the text recognition program to convert it into text and then I used google translate italian to english - yes, it is THAT WORTHY - I have almost all books on soapmaking at home, liquid, transparent, milk soapmaking, hot process, cold process.... but I can say that this one is worthy the waste majority of them.

At that time I didn t know there is an english version too, because authors are italian, so I was not happy I did all this experiment, but then when I saw the price and read that the new reprint is missing a lot of information, I am happy I did this exercise - ok,I did not finish to translate everything yet,but am getting there!

I have the original 2004 version in English.  It is what I originally learned soaping from, and yes it is wonderful.  I'm not willing to part with it, but if anyone needs any info. from it I'd be happy to help if I can.

I have just gotten mine in italian, from Rome, $30, shipping included, third edition. Since was only yesterday I got the book, I had little time to browse through it (I plan to translate as much as possible) and noticed good info on discounting water, even a formula. Looks like is going to be priceless.

Well, I bought one on Amazon for about $70.00. My husband would have a fit if he knew. They don't know how it feels to make soap, ha ha. Live and learn, stupid me! The description said "the original " 2004  1st edition. It is not! It's the reprint.I talked to the seller and really do not blame her. She immediately changed her description but Amazon needs to change the main page. I am keeping the book but I really want the original one. I would like to see the color pics. You can't tell anything with black and white photos. What were they thinking? I would also would like to know what was left out in this book that was in the original. Advice to buyers, ask questions! My failure to do so has left me very sad and embarrassed, besides broker.

The one I got from Rome recently is the third edition and has colored pictures. However, there is not big difference between those pictures and any other tutorials I have seen on the web. The content though is the core of what we all need to know.
It will be quite a job to translate it but I do want to do it.

If anyone wants to get a hold of it, I ordered it from AbeBooks.co.uk, but it comes directly from Rome, no shipping charge.

The first edition color pictures are wonderful.  I remember thinking that I could just eat that soap before I even made my first batch.  And their pictures of DOS soap was very informative also.  Now I feel spoiled that I have it in English!
